ACCOMACK COUNTY, Va.-Virginia State Police have located an 18-year-old woman reported missing in Accomack County.
On Wednesday afternoon, police said they had been looking for Vermelle Tontrese Moore since 3 a.m. after she had been last seen at Captains Cove in Greenbackville, Va.
Troopers said Vermelle was believed to have been “abducted and in extreme danger.” Just before 4 p.m. Wednesday, however, police said Vermelle had been “safely located.”
Police are still looking for the man she is believed to have been with, 20-year-old Jerry Antonie Satchell of Horntown, Va. According to officers, Satchell forced Moore into a dark green 1993 Ford F-150 pickup truck and fled the scene. The truck was located Wednesday afternoon.
He is described as black, 5-foot-11, 185 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black and white checkered shirt with the words Coca-Cola on it, as well as dark pants and a red hat. He was last seen driving a 1993 green Ford F-150 with Virginia tag 5792UX.
Satchell is wanted for one felony count of abduction, one felony count of destruction of property and one felony count of assault.
The Virginia State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation’s Chesapeake Field Office is being assisted by the Accomack County Sheriff’s Office, Maryland State Police and local law enforcement in Maryland.
