DOVER, Del. – Dover Police have arrested a Lincoln man in connection to two shooting incidents that happened this week.
According to police, at around 10 p.m. Wednesday, officers responded to the 100 block of Willis Road for a report of multiple shots fired. When police arrived, it was learned that multiple vehicles and homes had been struck by gunfire. A witness gave police cell phone photos of a gray Ford truck and 4-door sedan that fled immediately after shots were fired.
Approximately two hours later, just after midnight, another report of shots fired came in on Stevenson Drive. Officers who were working a high-visibility patrol assignment in the area located 22-year-old Jaquell McDonald fleeing from the scene and subsequently took him into custody. A handgun was also found in the area that McDonald was seen fleeing, as well as a set of keys for the Ford F-150 seen in the witness cell phone photos.
McDonald was charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by person prohibited, six counts of reckless endangering first degree, and five counts of criminal mischief. He is currently being held at the Sussex Correctional Institution on $75,700 cash bond.
