SEAFORD, Del.- Delaware State Police said a Seaford man was arrested Wednesday after he allegedly assaulted a 19-year-old woman.
Troopers were dispatched to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital shortly before 3:30 p.m. after a victim said she had been physically assaulted. The 19-year-old victim told police that she had been in an argument with her boyfriend, 28-year-old Rayshawn Sheppard, at his home on the 24000 block of German Road.
According to state police, the victim said she was walking out of the home when Sheppard reportedly started to through her stuff outside. When she tried to pick it up, she was hit with a blunt force object and fell. Sheppard then started spraying her stuff with lighter fluid, police said.
Police said the victim was able to leave and get to the hospital before she contacted authorities. She was treated and released for non-life-threatening injuries.
Sheppard was arrested at his home later that day. He was arraigned and committed to SCI on a $30,500 secured bond.
