DOVER, Del.- A Kent County, Del. man has been arrested on drug and weapons charges following an investigation by Dover police, and his girlfriend is still being sought.

According to police, Nathaniel Hampton, 27, was contacted by officers in the 300 block of Frear Drive shortly after 5:30 Thursday evening.

Initially police say Hampton tried to run but was quickly apprehended.

Officers then conducted a search warrant at Hampton’s residence and reportedly found 595.1 grams of marijuana, paraphernalia, and a .25-caliber handgun with an obliterated serial number.  

Hampton, who police say was out on bail on charges stemming from an earlier incident, had his bail revoked and was committed to SCI in default of an additional $64,000 secured bond on the following new charges:

-Possession of Firearm by Person Prohibited
-Possession with Intent to Deliver Marijuana
-Possession of Marijuana
-Possession of Firearm with Obliterated Serial Number
-Possession of Firearm During Commission Felony
-Conspiracy 2nd Degree
-Drug Paraphernalia
-Resisting Arrest
-Endangering the Welfare of a Child (4x)

Police say Hampton’s girlfriend, Vanessa Leon, 34, is currently wanted on the following charges:

-Possession of Firearm by Person Prohibited
-Possession with Intent to Deliver Marijuana
-Possession of Marijuana
-Possession of Firearm with Obliterated Serial Number
-Possession of Firearm During Commission Felony
-Conspiracy 2nd Degree
-Drug Paraphernalia
-Endangering the Welfare of a Child (4x)
