A wanted Massachusetts man was pulled over in a vehicle stolen out of Pennsylvania and had a women reportedly kidnapped out of his city of residence in the front seat, Delaware State Police announced Thursday. 

According to authorities, Leigh Lavalee, 37, of Springfield, was spotted around 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday, August 14, 2019, driving a stolen Chevrolet Malibu with Pennsylvania plates through the parking lot of a Superlodge motel at 1213 West Avenue near New Castle before turning into the Super Fuel at 3006 New Castle Avenue.  

After police stopped him, they discovered Lavalee had been at the motel to purchase drugs, and his front seat passenger had been reported kidnapped in Springfield, police said. 

Lavalee attempted to provide a false name to police, and signed documentation with a false name. 

He was charged with felony second-degree forgery, felony receiving stolen property-over $1,500, criminal impersonation, and driving without a license, and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in lieu of $8,500 cash bond, pending extradition back to Massachusetts.
