CLAYMONT, Del. – A motorcycle driver was flown to the hospital on Sunday after a serious crash in Claymont.
The crash occurred around 4:16 p.m. when a 77-year-old man driving a Mercury Marquis was traveling southbound on Philadelphia Pike. The driver attempted to turn left and cross the northbound lanes when that motorcycle driver slammed into the passenger side of the vehicle.
The motorcycle driver was wearing a helmet, but was ejected from the bike and sustained serious injuries.
The Mercury driver was not injured and was cited for improperly turning. Delaware State Police are continuing the investigation into the crash.
