GEORGETOWN, Del. – A Georgetown man was sentenced to 30 years in prison after he plead guilty to killing his grandmother.
It happened in October of 2018. According to the Delaware Department of Justice, 31-year-old George Bailey, III, choked his 69-year-old grandmother, Lorraine Bradley, to death after she fell. Authorities said they were leaving their Long Neck home at the time of the incident. Bailey then stole her car, investigators said.
The Delaware DOJ said Bradley’s body and two dead dogs were found more than a week later after friends reported they hadn’t heard from Bradley.
Authorities said Bailey plead guilty to second degree murder and was immediately sentenced to 30 years in prison by a Superior Court judge. The sentence also includes six months of immediate home confinement followed by 10 years of probation.
