Konrad La Prade has been named director of advertising for the Independent Newsmedia Delmarva group, including the Delaware State News.
INI’s CEO, Ed Dulin, stated he was “ecstatic” with the prospect of Konrad’s joining the Delmarva management team and heading up the advertising oversight for the group.
“I first interviewed him more than five years ago and recognized then his leadership skills and potential,” Mr. Dulin said. “We’ve stayed in touch since then and I was finally successful at twisting his arm hard enough to come aboard.”
Since Konrad’s father, Darel, is the Delmarva group publisher, Konrad will report directly to Mr. Dulin to avoid any conflict or nepotism.
Likewise, the duties for each will be outlined with separate goals and objectives, although it will be important for them to work closely together to make sure the group’s success and growth matches up perfectly.
Konrad’s advertising management experience began more than 17 years ago withThe Collegian, the student newspaper for Hillsdale (MI) College, where he tripled the paper’s annual revenue in his four years there.
He later served as advertising director for Chesapeake Publishing, Digital First NY, Halifax and Gatehouse newspaper companies.
In addition to his knowledge of print marketing, he has had extensive experience and success in his most recent positions with developing digital advertising programs for clients and community events that stimulate local reader engagement.
“But his real passion, and it shows every time I’ve talked to him about his past, is in developing great teams and seeing his people succeed,” said Mr. Dulin. “His values line up perfectly with INI’s values.
“I’m predicting some terrific progress and growth for the Delmarva INI group with the La Prade team in place!”
