CAMDEN-WYOMING/MARYDEL, Del. – Delaware State Police have arrested a Camden-Wyoming man in connection with two burglaries.

During the month of May, police investigated burglary complaints on Fox Hole Rd., Camden Wyoming and Sandy Bend Rod., Marydel in which the residences were either vacant or under construction.

According to police, the 29-year-old David D. Smith proceeded to remove scrap metal, flat bed trailers and tools from the properties.

On June 5, Smith was taken into custody at his residence in the 3000 block of Westville Rd., Camden-Wyoming without incident.

He was transported back to Troop 3 where he was charged with the following:

  • Burglary Second-Degree
  • Burglary Third-Degree
  • Theft (3 counts)
  • Criminal Mischief (2 counts)
  • Criminal Trespass

Smith was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $9,501 secured bond.
