BRIDGEVILLE, Del. – Delaware State Police arrested a Bridgeville man earlier this week in connection to a domestic related assault that took place back in April.

Troopers say that they were called to the area of Craft Road at around 2:45 a.m. on April 19th for a reported domestic. A female victim told police that her boyfriend, 38-year-old Kenneth McDowell, drove her to a farm field in the area and pointed a gun at her while threatening to kill her. McDowell was located on the property at this time.

A subsequent interview with the victim revealed that McDowell had physically assaulted her, pulled out a handgun, and fired the gun off next to her in close proximity.

On May 25th, troopers executed a search warrant at a shed where McDowell allegedly fired the gun. A shell casing was recovered from the scene, and a handgun was later recovered from McDowell.

On June 7th, an arrest warrant was obtained for McDowell on possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, aggravated menacing, assault third degree, and terroristic threatening charges, and he was taken into custody on Monday.

McDowell is currently being held at the Sussex Correctional Institution on $32,000 secured bond.
