Rehoboth Beach – The Blood Bank of Delmarva has a new partner in the effort to serve the needs of hospitals in the region.  The city of Rehoboth Beach hosted a blood drive on Monday at the Convention Center.  96 appointments were scheduled, exceeding the Blood Bank’s goal of 80.  In addition, there were a number of walk-ins who patiently waited until called to begin the blood donation process.

“The Blood Bank of Delmarva services all of the 19 hospitals in Delaware,” Blood Bank Account Manager Ralph Groves said.  “We need about 350 pints a day to keep those hospitals in stock.”

Groves hopes to coordinate a blood drive with Rehoboth Beach once every three months.
