BLADES, Del. – Delaware State Police arrested a Blades man Tuesday night following a domestic incident.

At around 9:30 p.m., troopers were called to respond to a residence on East 6th Street for a reported domestic incident. On arrival, troopers learned that 21-year-old Deangelo McCafferty was in an altercation with his two younger siblings and mother. McCafferty reportedly hit both his mother and one younger sibling during the altercation.

When troopers tried to place McCafferty under arrest, he began resisting arrest, eventually forcing the trooper into the edge of the front door, resulting in injuries to the trooper. No one else was injured during the incident.

McCafferty was arrested and charged with resisting arrest, assault second degree injure a law enforcement officer, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, and two counts of offensive touching. He is currently being held at the Sussex Correctional Institution on $7,200 secured bond.
