SALISBURY, Md. – Dog owners in Salisbury could soon be getting a treat.
The City announced plans for a dog park about a month ago, but asked community members to donate.
A real estate group partnered with the city, but said if residents raised $5,000, they would match that.
Now, Mayor Jake Day says community members have raised well over half of that goal, and in a short amount of time.
With a goal of raising $5,000 by August 15th, Mayor Day says he’s confident the community will raise the rest of the money.
“What’s great is that this is the community and a private [fundraiser] coming together, the city is just a cheerleader in that case, we’re not providing the money, so it’s a really community based effort,” Mayor Day said.
Anyone who wants to donate to the Bark Park project can visit the Salisbury, Maryland Facebook page to find instructions on how to do it.
