DOVER, Del.- Delaware State Police have arrested two people in connection with a spree of thefts from cars throughout the Dover area.

During the month of May, Troop 3 and Troop 9 began investigating a rash of thefts. Multiple reports were taken of unknown suspects stealing electronics, cash, credit and debit cards and other valuables from unlocked cars, police said.

Troopers identified 29-year-old Heather D. Shockley, of Magnolia, and 31-year-old Thomas M. Gilbert, of Dover, as suspects.

Shockley was taken into custody June 5 at the First State Motel in Dover and Gilbert was taken into custody at the Eden Hill Medical Complex, according to police.

Both were charged with multiple counts of felony theft, among other related charges.

Shockley was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on $1,020 cash only bond.
