SELBYVILLE, Del. – Delaware State Police said four people are facing drug charges after they seized 97 bags of heroin and suspected drug proceeds from a Selbyville home that had a history of drug activity.

The investigation started weeks ago, when members of the Sussex Governor’s Task Force learned that several people were loitering in front of a home on the 37000 block of Washington Avenue.

According to DSP, this property had been at the center of a civil abatement in 2018 for prior drug related crimes. Because of this, the state had taken control of the home, removed everyone from the house, and boarded it with no trespassing signs.

Police said they learned people were returning to the property. On Monday, police responded to the home after receiving current information that people were present and engaging in criminal activity.

DSP said some people ran when police arrived, but four people were eventually arrested.

Keith Handy, 51 of Selbyville, is facing four drug-related charges. He was arraigned and committed to SCI on a $14,000 secured bond.

Jayquan Bland, 19 of Laurel, is facing five related charges. He was arraigned and committed to SCI on a $11,500 secured bond.

Herbert Griffin, 55 of Selbyville, is facing four drug-related charges. He was arraigned and committed to SCI on a $10,500 secured bond.

Devine Lynch, 23 of Salisbury, is facing four drug-related charges. He was arraigned and committed to SCI on a $10,500 secured bond.
